IF A1="foobar" THEN change background colour for cells A2:A7?

    Hi Ex(cel)perts,

How can I change the background colour for a certain range of cells, based on a condition referring to a cell that is NOT part of the to-be-formatted cell-range?

If cell-A1 value is "foobar" then change the background colour for cell-range A2:A7 to pink? "Foobar" is a text string, not an integer.

    Cheers
    Paltsi

Was this to be answered by your ex?

If not just use the Conditional formatting, Formula to test for $a$1

Good to see it works, and thanks for your reply, but in relation to the Ex(cel)perts that is just a little too close to the definition of an Expert as Ex = has been, spurt(sounds like) = a drip under pressure, :: Expurt = has-been-drip-under-pressure.
