Yo, Excel users! Hail!!! I bring you a desperate challenge...
This has been driving me nuts for a while. I read the excellent SUMPRODUCT description at this URL:
http://www.xldynamic.com/source/xld.SUMPRODUCT.html
Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I batted it around and got nowhere. Maybe I could use SUMIF, IF or some combination of all these? I tried them too, without productive results. I bet there's a simple, elegant formula to solve this, but I'm fried at the moment.
Here's the prob: I want to count the incidence of cells in 2 columns ONLY if both the cells have "#N/A" and "?" in them - see my crude lil example here:
column F.............col.G...................col. H
SAGER..................#N/A..................?
WEISSBURG..........Weissburg, Al.......(blank cell)
WHEELER..............Wheeler, Pat........?
WHITE..................#N/A...................?
So... what I want is a formula that reads columns G & H and gives a count of how many pairs of cells have "#N/A" and "?" in them. Please help. Thanks.
