    Validation protection with named ranges

    Hi all

When I name a dynamic data range and use that named range it the data
validation, the error rotection goes away and it allows me to enter data not
    on the drop down list.

    Any ideas here?

If the dynamic range contains a blank cell, you'll be able to enter any
value in the cell with data validation.
