Enter comments in a protected Excel worksheet

How do I enter comments into a protected worksheet? I just want comments in
one column on the worksheet, but it doesn't appear to be enabled unless I
take the protection off which I don't want to do.

RE: Enter comments in a protected Excel worksheet

    Sue,

When you protect a worksheet you are asked to check / uncheck 3 boxes
(contents, objects, scenarios). The objects box is the one that controls
whether you can enter comments or not. Therefore, if when you protect the
worksheet you UNCHECK the objects box you should be able to enter comments.
Play around with the different scenarios of checking / unchecking certain
boxes to see if it meets your needs. There is no way that I know of to enter
comments on a protected worksheet when the objects box is checked.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
