    correct validation

when using cell validation's it works fine for protecting cells when ppl
enter data in the correct range , however if someone hightlights a few rows
and clear contens it deletes all the data, anyway to stop this so only the
    listed data can be entered

    re: correct validation

Unlock those cells into which you want the user to enter data via Data
Validation (Format - Cells - Protection tab - uncheck the "Locked" box).
Just those cells. Then protect the sheet (Tools - Protection - Protect
    Sheet).
The user can still copy/paste something into those specific cells (the
unlocked cells) and wipe out the Data Validation, but he cannot select one
or more rows and delete their contents. He can select the Data Validation
cell and clear it and that would clear the contents of that cell but not the
Data Validation. Post back if this doesn't fill your needs. HTH Otto
