    Empty Book1 workbook

How do I configure Excel to not open the extra (empty) workbook named "Book1"
along with the Excel spreadsheet that I intentionally opened?

RE: Empty Book1 workbook - Marco?

Sounds like there might be a macro in your workbook that is opening the additional empty workbook.

If it is not a macro, check the file extension to make sure you are not opening a WORKSPACE rather than a WORKBOOK. (Workspaces have an .XLW extension).

If that is not the problem, check for the existence of a file or shortcut in the XLStart Folder. (Root\OS\Profiles\User_name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart or Root\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart)
