    Question SUMIF calculations

    HI:
I've searched your Forums and Excel manuals, but I'm just no expert and can't find the answer I need. I'm doing a spreadsheet in which I need to have a sum for types of defects recieved from a given supplier. I tried a (SUMIF())AND(SUMIF()) thinking that the formula would only sum if both criteria were met. Here's my example:

(ok-THESE AREN'T COMING OUT IN CELL FORM, BUT A-I ARE COLUMNS)
    A B C D E F G H I
Quantity Supplier Defect Category Total Sup A Sup B SupC Sup D
    1 A Paint Paint 2 1 0 0 1
    1 B Scratch Scratch 2 0 1 1 0
    1 C Scratch
    1 D Paint

My SUMIF works for the category total (E) y using SUMIF(C1:C4,D1,A1:A4). What formula can I use to get the totals by supplier in F through I???
    Thanks,

    NON IS.

I think the easiest is to show by an example (see enclosed jpg)
All values are calculated by formulas. I just show 4 of them.
