    Duplication in Column

    Hello,

I have a column of names in the format FirstName LastName.
The column contains many thousands of rows of data.

What is the best way to find out what names have been duplicated in
    the list?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Regards,

There may be easier/ faster ways, but I would insert a new column. In that column, add the formula = a2 & " " & b2 so that cell C2 is the full name "John Doe".

Then, sort by that column. Duplicates will appear together.

To make it easier to spot the duplicates, use conditional formatting to say: if C3 = C2, format this bright red with a yellow background. Copy that conditional formatting down the entire column.

    In an adjacent column, add

    =IF(COUNTIF(A:A,A1)>1,"Duplicate","")

    and copy down
