MATCH function - 2 columns w/ SIMILAR, not EXACT data

colu. 1 contains:

1001
vendor 43980
1001/1180/90 CAT 8
1001/1180/90/8

col. 2 contains:
1001
SD3 vendor number 43980
PO 45609
1001 1180 90 8

I need to match these 2 columns IF the values are the same, regardless of
text.

Any suggestions?
