    Naming a cell

    Hi everyone

I was wondering how I can rename a cell reference. For example I would
like to rename cell A1 reference: "Mike".

So if I put 20 in cell A1 and I want to add it to cell A2 to equal A3
then I would type: mike+A2=A3 rather than A1+A2=A3

    Please help,

    Mike (aka A1...hehe)

    Re: Naming a cell

    Select the cell..........

    Insert > Name > Define.........type in Mike

    Vaya con Dios,
    Chuck, CABGx3

PS, the formula in A3 should be =mike+A2

    Re: Naming a cell

Select A1; in the name box type Mike and press ENTER (most important)
Now type a number in A1
    In A2 type another number
    In A3 type =mike + A2

Read Help to use Name | Create to name a block of cells
Or buy a book if you really want to learn the basics

    best wishes
