    Help with Statistic Formula

    Hello,

On the attached sheet I'm being asked four different scenarios. I was able to solve the first one but could use a hand on the other three.

    Thanks!

    Re: Help with Statistic Formula

Well, you're not told to use a specific function for the other three questions.

So, for question 2, you're looking for an average, so that should indicate which function(s) to look at there. There are two conditions, so that should help you home in on the one you need.

Question 3 is about counting things, so again, that should indicate which function(s) to look at there. And,again, there are two conditions, so that should help you home in on the one you need.

For the last question, you need to find three functions. One that gets the highest value, one that gets the least value. And, once more, in each case there are a couple of functions to choose from. Then you need something that can use those values to generate random numbers (and limit the range it uses).

Hope that helps. Please come back if you need any further pointers or confirmation of the results you get.

Oh, and well done with the SUMPRODUCT. If anything, I’d have said that was the hardest to get your head around.

No it's a work related exercise that is part of a larger spreadsheet I'm working on.

Do you still need help with this? Given the way the information and questions are presented, I’m sure you can understand why it looks like a homework or revision exercise.

Whatever, the functions you need are AVERAGEIFS, COUNTIFS, and RANDBETWEEN, MIN and MAX.
