Exclamation Formula for filling in row numbers in index sheet

    Hi all,

I'm having a struggle with my Excel sheet about a storage in different rows.
In the Index tap, we want to have for every variety mentioned in which rows this variety is, it is the orange colum.

Complete information I already gathered in the tap "test Simone" and all seperate in all rows.

Is there anybody who knows which formula to us for the tab "index" and than colum D? This is now done by hand, but I can't figure out which and how to use the formula.
Tried the Pivot table and IF formula already, but not the result I'm looking for.. If we have to split up in 2 colums (as they are never in more than 2 rows) that is fine to.

Thanks a lot in advance already! Stock sheet.xlsx

Your Test Simone formulas can be simpler by using INDIRECT. You had to create a formula for each tab separately, but you can use just one formula and copy across. Also, you don't need two columns for each tab, you could just have one formula.

Is the list of names on Index always going to be the same names in the same order as on Test Simone? This solution assumes so.

You have several errors on your manual Index sheet. For example, "Acc Robin - E1" does not appear on tab Row 7. Compare to the new version.

Re: Formula for filling in row numbers in index sheet

Hi Jeff, huge thanks for this. I can make it, that it is always the same. It is for our storage, so we can have some changes in it every year, but than we can just change it on the Index page?

Yes, there are some errors, because we work in it with multiple people, my mainly for my Excel skills and others for the administration.

And if we wanted the INDEX sheet to count the boxes in every row, from every variety, easy to do that with the same formula? So that is Colum E than...

THanks a lot again, your help is huge!!
