Need a formula as mine is not working

Hi

I'm sure this is an easy one for someone and i have googled it and although i got explanations on how to achieve what i want its just not working .What I am after is i have rows for example a2 through to k2 the cell k2 will have a date put in. What i want then is that once that date (any date ) is entered into cell k2 that all the cells a2 to j2 change color i would ideally like this to happen in all the rows below it as well but will happily settle for just the one row at the moment.
