    Conditional Formatting (Expiry Dates)

    Morning all, new member here as I need some expert help with Conditional Formatting which will probably seem simple to those in the know but I'm going around in circles trying to fathom this out (I'm convinced it will be an easy fix).
    I've had to attach images of the sheet and the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager of what I''m trying to do as unable to upload an actual excel sheet due to security issues via my work system.
    My excel sheet is simple, a column detailing expiry dates of a certain competency and I need to colour code them according to their status:

    Amber - Due withing the next 28 days
    Green - in date but not due within the next 28 days (in date as in anything that is on or before the current date)
    Red - Out of date
    Grey - Blank cell/no data

    I can get the Amber, Red and Grey function to work but can't work out how to do it for those that are in date?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Re: Conditional Formatting (Expiry Dates)

    you have NOW()
    I would change to TODAY() as NOW() includes the time
    also
    Green
    new rule
    Cell value > today()+30

    although you say 28days

    What do you want for exactly 30 days - you should add an =

    > =
    OR
    < =

    to include the 30th day

    also use stop if true - and tick ALL

    AS
    Cell value < now()
    is also true for
    cell value <now()+30
    so a stop if true would keep the red and not change to amber

    many thanks for your quick response, that's solved the issue nicely so can't thank you enough (btw where I mentioned the 28 day thing my original formula had 30 in it so I just put the wrong amount of days in it)
