    If function with Sumifs

    Hi team,

Could someone please assist to help me pull through the actual or forecast for specific month on my expected result-so at any time when the actual or forecast changes by moving the cell from the source data my result tab will update.
On the if statement formular my value if criteria should only pick the sum of forecast for specific month if it is not actual.

    Thanks for all your support.
    John

    in B4

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =SUMIFS('source data'!$B5:$M5,'source data'!$B$4:$M$4,B$3,'source data'!$B$3:$M$3,B$2)

    Copy across and down

    No need for IF statement

    HI John,

Thanks for coming back to me.
Could you please amend/update my formular --=IF(B$3="Actual",SUMIFS($B14:$M14,$B$3:$M$3,"Actual"))

I want to sum the actual and forecast separately.

    Actual spend todate 98000
    Forecast remaining to spend FALSE

    Thanks

    Re: If function with Sumifs

I used this formaular IF(B$3="Actual",SUMIFS($B14:$M14,$B$3:$M$3,"Actual")) to arrive at £98,000 but I want to tweak it for the Forecast as well. so I can have a total for actual and forecast separately. Thanks

    Re: If function with Sumifs

It would appear ( to me) you do not understand the SUMIFs statement.

The formula I provided does exactly what you stated in your expected results

None the wiser so I'll leave this.

    Administrative Note:

Is your forum profile showing the oldest Excel PRODUCT that you need this to work for?

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your product is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel products are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 Version 2306). This is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Thanks.
