Drop Down Selection to to subtract from a Number in a cell

    Hi

I need to be able to make a selection from a drop down box and when a specific selection is made I.E. "Yes" it will subtract the number from the total amount remaining.

I need to be able to also complete this over multiple cells

I have attached a sample spreadsheet

You will see there are two items with High Priority on them and there is a '2' in the total column above

When yes is selected as complete I need it to remove 1 unit from the total numberFire Risk Assessment - Template 04-01-2024.xlsx

    Welcome to the forum.

    Try this:

    =COUNTA(C9:C20)-COUNTIF(H9:H20,"YES")

    Hi

Thankyou, Unfortunately this did not work.

When cells H9:H20 is "YES" cell C3 needs to drop count by 1

    Many Thanks

Then maybe you need to explain more clearly exactly what you want, because it does what I think you have described, and you haven’t told me what it’s doing wrong. Telling me that it doesn’t work doesn’t tell me anything useful, I’m afraid, so I don’t have any chance of knowing how to correct its behaviour to suit your needs. Sorry.
