This is the formula I'm using
=SUMPRODUCT(--('This is my sheet name'!L:L=D2),--(NOT(ISBLANK('This is my sheet name'!A:A))))
The sheet name is variable and changes monthly, Its in a cell but I cannot use the cell as a string is there a way around this because there's too many of those around to replace monthly, I simply want to use a cell as a string in the example above, please help and thank you in advance.

Which version of Excel do you have? Please update your forum profile accordingly.
Try this:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(INDIRECT("'"&A1&"'!L:L")=D2),--(NOT(ISBLANK(INDIRECT("'"&A1&"'!A:A")))))
where A1 contains the sheet name.
