Can't find where to enter my conditional formatting new rule!

I am trying to enter a formula for a new rule (shade every other row). I highlight the rows I want, click on Conditional Formatting and then New Rule. This box pops up and gives me nowhere to enter the formula. I haven't used this version of Excel before and don't understand how to proceed.

Thank you! That worked. Seems more complicated than the way I remember it. I don't know why they don't just make a button for that particular formatting...I feel like shading every other line is a pretty basic thing lots of folks want to do. But whatever, thank you. I will add to your reputation

Re: Can't find where to enter my conditional formatting new rule!

    you are welcome
may be a better way to do it , but thats how i do it
it would be worth updating profile to show 365 version 16.78
rather than just the release version
i also add its OSX , as on Mac OSX some windows features may not be available - although I think some are now , like power query

I got notification and a video emailed about a new excel feature - but only on windows versions , at moment , now has checkbox in the insert menu , where you can inset a checkbox and get TRUE, FALSE , not on my Mac version yet

I imagine most people just format it as a table to get that effect
