Hi Everyone.
I haven't been in the coding world for a very long time. I am an electrician and have been trying to create a quotation template so my wife can help with the pricing up part of the job.
So I created a spreadsheet, on the main sheet I have a table where we can enter the room's name and a job description. Below I wanted to be able to add (step) boxes which would contain 2 fields one would ideally be a pull-down to look up tables in sheet 2 (i will describe this later), and the second field would be the quantity. on the page is a box which will display the total, this total is taken from the first pull-down which looks up the table and next to it is the cost, it then uses field 2s pull down (quantity) to multiply the figure and adds it to a rolling total. This Total will repeat the same process for each step of the job, eventually giving the total cost.
Underneath would be the labour cost, I am just planning to enter the labour time manually and have the total cell look u the price on the prices sheet and multiply it by the labour cell, easy enough.
Then under those two totals will be the combined total, which will hopefully be a simple =sum(Cell1+Cell2).
I have designed the sheet in a vertical manner, and hopefully, that makes it easier, the other issue I have is each project could have any number of steps, so I need to be able to add in the step boxes as many as we need. The other issue is each client can have one or more projects in each room, so I need to be able to copy the whole project table next to on the right if the client has another job. I have started the spreedsheet if I can figure out how to attach it to this post i will.
The prices page is made up of different tables, which just helps to organise the various materials and tasks we charge for, i.e. a cables table, a back boxes table etc, I can just merge this table into one if it makes it easier, ideally if the pull-downs on the main sheet has a search bar this could help. I need to be able to edit these tables, adding and removing items, or changing prices as things change all the time.
I hope this all makes sense, whether you can reply or not I thank you for taking the time to read this. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be truly grateful.
I will continue to work on this and hopefully there is only little help I need.
Kindest Regards
