trying to add another formula to existing formula

the workbook im using now mostly works but some day we do not fill the bin or we are left with emptynbins because we ran out of specific ticket. So i need it to count a blank space as the corresponding number in row c. so if row e is blank i need to subtract c from d if its blank. if its not blank use the existing formula.

your workbook doesn't have any columns listed as "bins", you do not show any examples and rows are like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc while columns are A, B, C, D, etc.
so sheet1 has the first row that is blank in row 8 column E and cell C8 has 25 while D8 has 001, are you saying that you want the answer in cell E8 to be -24?

Not sure I understand, but based on your sample data, if you "subtract c from d", you're going to get negative numbers (or did you mean to subtract d from c?). Also, could you manually input the correct value in a cell where your current formula fails? But just based on what you are asking, wouldn't it be =IF(e3="",c3-d3,your exiting formula here)
