    Vlookup with a calculation

    Hi All,

I have a file with parking spots where I need to do a vlookup from table A which has the total spots into table B which does not have all the locations and then calculate the percentage of the total spots (see attached tables).

Can someone please assist with a vlookup formula( I guess) that would lookup up the location in table A and then lookup table B for the same location and then do a calculation of the percentage of the total?

    Thanking you in advance!

    Re: Vlookup with a calculation

You can use this formula in cell E3:

    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A3,$H$3:$J$21,MATCH(E$2,$H$2:$J$2,0),0)/VLOOKUP($A3,$A$3:$C$21,MATCH(E$2,$A$2:$C$2,0),0),"")

Copy into F3, then copy both formulae down as required.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

    Re: Vlookup with a calculation

Apologies, but one thing I forgot to mention is that the two tables are actually pivot tables. So I am trying Jacc's solution and I guess because they are pivot tables vs. regular tables, the formula doesn't seem to work. Any ideas Jacc?

John & Pete_UK, I haven't tried your suggestions on the solution, but do you think it will work with pivot tables?

    Thanks!

    Re: Vlookup with a calculation

I have no idea what your pivot tables look like. Troubleshooting without a workbook is impossible.
