I want to use the COUNTIF function to count the number of data points that are greater than a calculated value. For example =COUNTIF(A1:A20,">B1") where cell B1 is calculated and subject to change. The function always returns zero, even if several values in the range fit the criteria. I have the same problem with equal (=) and less than (<). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you don't need "="&B1 because it's equivalent of B1
