SUMPRODUCT Formula to Calculate Elapsed Time

    All,

The solution for my question is based on what been graciously written by Bo_Ry. What I cannot understand is how to adjust the SUMPRODUCT formula he had written to accommodate non-contiguous cells. If possible, to give to result in a format of "[mm].m" elapsed time, whereas ".m" is 1/10 of a minute.

    Example
Elapsed time Equals 120:36 ([mm]:ss) I would like it to show as 120.6 ([mm].m)

    Glenn,

Thank you for asking. Yeah, nothing in the extra column, I was attempting to simply create the environment of the cells being separated is all.

It's always a mistake to try to dissect one of Bo Ry's formulae... they're just so good... if complicated. However (until Bo Ry does it in 50% of the characters...):

    =IFERROR(SUMPRODUCT((TEXT(MID(LEFT(G7,FIND("Z",G7)-1),3,4),"00\:00")+(LEFT(G7,2)&RIGHT(G7,6))+(MID(G7&".0",FIND(".",G7&".0"),2))/1440))-SUMPRODUCT((TEXT(MID(LEFT(E7,FIND("Z",E7)-1),3,4),"00\:00")+(LEFT(E7,2)&RIGHT(E7,6))+(MID(E7&".0",FIND(".",E7&".0"),2))/1440)),"")

Re: SUMPRODUCT Formula to Calculate Elapsed Time

    Glenn,

Thank you for your time and a solution. If, I may how could the elapsed time be formatted differently?

How could cell H8 be formatted to the 1/10 of a minute format? I had tried Custom Formatting w/out sucess.
    (i.e 120.6 vice 120:36)

So... Bo Ry's solution to your original Q was incorrect? Or am I missing something?

Re: SUMPRODUCT Formula to Calculate Elapsed Time

    Glenn,

It is correct. I was simply attempting to show the time elapsed in a decimal format of minutes. [mm].1/10 of a minute vice [mm]:ss or 120.6 vice 120:36.
