I'm extracting data from an SQL Server database into an excel table (via OLE DB connection) and I'm trying to build hyperlinks from this data. I'm using the HYPERLINK function and everything seems OK but the link does not activate until I manually enter the cells and hit return. It looks like the formula is treated as text although it has the starting equal sign and a well-formatted HYPERLINK function.

If I do a manual find/replace of the "=" for itself it works. Doing the same with an automated macro has not worked, but I'm not very used to this and I would prefer to avoid a VBA solution except if it is the only way.

Changing the options in Keep cell format or Keep sort order has not made a difference either.

I've spent too much time by now and I would thank very much any help with this.
