Sum of one column on to sheet 2

Hi guys,
I'm trying to add a column from Sheet one to a cell on Sheet 2.

I realize this is probably simple but I'm not very good at Excel.

lacking all other information, this in "sheet2" any cell would sum col A from sheet1...
=SUM(Sheet1!A:A)

adjust as your needs suit.
