Including the ranking problems of certain classes

9,10,15,16 class ranking, except for classes that are not listed, but also ranking. It means that 9,10,15,16 class ranking, 1~8 AND 11~14 class ranking, put These two respective rankings are placed in column C, and the result is as column C
Of course the highest score ranks first, and so on

    Any help would be appreciated!

Re: The merger is not included in the class ranking together

    the post title
The merger is not included in the class ranking together
    1) this does not give enough information about what you are looking for, so I looked at post #1 and that does not clarify what you have nor need.
    2) you list your version of excel as 2003/2007, which is it? Also you've posted an xls and not an xlsx sheet.
the later versions with xlsx have more features and can accept formulas that earlier versions cannot.
    3) you say there is a formula in cell C2, there is no formula anywhere in your attachment that I can find.

Please be more specific about what you want, what you've tried and what results you expect. Also if your version supports xlsx, please upload that version of the workbook.

Re: The merger is not included in the class ranking together

As with Sam, it is not entirely clear to me what you are asking.

I have assumed that column-C is your manually calculated expected results and that you want a formula to reproduce what you have in column-C. Is that correct?
If so the following formula in C2 copied down reproduces your results.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

It only works because classes 9, 10, 15 and 16 happen to have the highest scores.

If this is not what you are looking for then please try to clarify your requirement.

Re: Including the ranking problems of certain classes

If add 4,5 Classes {4,5,9,10,15,16}, @GeoffW283's the formula seems wrong

The correct answer has been placed in column C

    Please try

    =SUMPRODUCT(--(B2<=(ISERROR(MATCH(A$2:A$17,{4,5,9,10,15,16},))=ISERROR(MATCH(A2,{4,5,9,10,15,16},)))*B$2:B$17))
