Hello,

What formulas can have the total Subcategory amounts from the 'Transactions' sheet for each month in the 'Category - Budget' sheet based on the year also in I3?

What do you mean your last reply: My first answer was to encourage you to give it a go yourself rather than just me or anyone give a pat answer. All of us (myself included) learn by having a go.

Hint for you:

Put this in W4 and copy across:

=DATE($I$3,COLUMNS($A:A),1)

then format as "MMM". If you change YEAR in I3 (2020 for example) you will get results for that year.

In SUMFS you need to check date is between start and end of month in row 4 and Sub-category matches that in TXs

SUMIFS is not difficult to use so at least give it a go.

I manually entered all of the amounts now it's complete woop woop.
