    Angry Conditional Formatting based on a formula

    Hi all,
    I'm using the following formula and I will like the apply to all lines

    If Cell A1 has "New Date" highlight all line from B1:Q1 with colour red.
    I'm struggling to make it for all as at the moment I have to build the conditional formatting for all cells.
    I've tried $A:$A="New Date" to be applied to "$B:$Q" but it highlights all cells even if A10 doesn't match.
    What do I do wrong?
    Thank you

    Hi there,
    Assuming your data is in colum A to Q and down.
    Select the area for which ou want the formatting to apply; $B:$Q
    Then in Use formula to determine which cells to format, enter in the field Format values where this formula is true try:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Re: Conditional Formatting based on a formula

    Thank you for this but is not exactly what I need.
    So based on the info from A1, A2, A3 I need to format B1:Q1, B2:Q2, C3:Q3
    Something like this:
    A1 = 31/05/21 = Don't highlight
    A2 = New Date = Highlight B2:Q2
    A3 = 01/06/21 = Don't Highlight
    etc.

    Thank you
