Want to create a function if value is already there in table then return message

Hi,

We are having vehicle inspection for monthly. So everyday we inspect vehicles and then enter these details into excel. I want to create a function suppose if vehicle details (Plate number) are already there in specific table meaning inspected then a message should return with something to inform that this vehicle is already inspected when i am entering new details.

Hi, welcome to the forum,
there is a build in function of Excel, if it is turned on, you type in only the first few characters of the word (i.c. licenceplate) and in the cells shows the word which has already been entered in the table.
This is to be found in Options, Advanced, then tag Enable AutoComplete for cell values.

This works if 4 or more lines in the table are filled.

I know about that feature but if there could be any other ways that helps me to find through exact matches with plate number column only when I write similar values it would be really great?

well, ofcourse you can use the VLOOKUP function, to be set for example in cells E7 and below:
