    Sum question with specific criteria

I am having a tough time articulating my needs so doing a search has proven to be impossible.

I would like to get the value from the Column indicated in Cell K:3 between the numbers indicated in K:5 and K:7.
i.e. Search Column D and sum between 2 and 7 (total of 27)

Thanks in advance for any advice

Why not upload the workbook so we have something to work with. Pictures are rarely helpful.

Re: Sum question with specific criteria

I was thinking this was easier... File attached

In this example I would use the cell S:4 to choose the column to search and S:6 through S:8 to specify the starting and ending row numbers to SUM

    One way

    =SUM(OFFSET($B$2,S6,S10-1,S8-S6+1,1))

Re: Sum question with specific criteria

Here are a couple more ways.
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =SUMIFS(INDEX($B$3:$P$82,,MATCH(S4,$B$2:$P$2,0)),A3:A82,">="&S6,A3:A82,"<="&S8)
    or
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =SUM(INDEX($B$3:$P$83,S6,MATCH(S4,B2:P2,0)):INDEX($B$3:$P$83,S8,MATCH(S4,B2:P2,0)))

Incredibly helpful!!!!!! Thank you for the help! SUMIFS works perfectly! I have been watching SUMIFS/INDEX videos for 3 days and you figured it out in mere moments!

Re: Sum question with specific criteria

Thanks for the encouragement... I plan on learning when and what I can. I do have questions about the first formula. It didn't return a value at all and I can't follow the syntax.
I plan on investigating further but I figure might as well ask if it was intended to be a fully functional formula or was that more of a helpful
    nudge in the right direction?

    =SUM(OFFSET($B$2,S6,S10-1,S8-S6+1,1))

Re: Sum question with specific criteria

    Sorry,

Forgot to mention that S10 was a helper cell

    =MATCH(S4,$B$2:$P$2,FALSE)
