    Convert SUMIF to SUMPRODUCT

I need to use the SUMPRODUCT function due to my criteria having 17 characters, and the SUMIF only reading 15 of those. I really just don't understand the SUMPRODUCT. If someone could convert successfully, it will help me to understand the "array".

    =-SUMIF('TAB2'!A:A,'TAB1'!H38,'TAB2'!G:G)

    Please try

    =-SUMIFS(Sheet2!B:B,Sheet2!A:A,"*"&A1)

    or more accurate with
    =-SUMIFS(Sheet2!B:B,Sheet2!A:A,UNICHAR(888)&A1)
