Post Excel 2007 linked sum not working

    Excel 2007
I'm working on an estate evaluation and am having difficulty with Excel and linking of values from ASSETS AND LIAB worksheet to a sum range in the SUMMARY worksheet.
    Any help would be appreciated.
If I change the values in the ASSETS AND LIAB worksheet as seen in orange, the TOTAL and REMAINING VARIANCE do not update in the SUMMARY worksheet, altho I29 in the SUMMARY worksheet updates appropriately?
I've check cell formats (no text), auto recalc etc. to no avail.
If I place a number in SUMMARY I29 manually, TOTAL and REMAINING VARIANCE update normally.
    The values have been simplified.
    Thanks

Re: Excel 2007 linked sum not working

Oddly, after opening your file in LibreOffice Calc, formulas didn't reflect changes in ASSETS & LIAB until I switched to the SUMMARY worksheet, but that did trigger immediate recalc. When I open the file in Excel, changes in ASSETS & LIAB are immediately reflected in both worksheets. In other words, I can replicate the problem reliably, only in part in LibreOffice Calc, not at all in Excel.

With this file open, what are your recalculation settings? Click on File in the ribbon, then on Options, and in the options dialog, select Formulas on the left. What shows as your Calculation options in the upper right of that dialog?

    Thanks for the reply...
I had previously checked recalcs and Workbook calculations are set on Automatic.

My accountant also said that the recalcs work fine on his computer??

Oddly if the I29 cell is positive the Total and Remaining Variance cells recalc fine but not with a negative $ number.

Is there another setting I'm missing?

same problem with another computer I have with Excel 2007

I don't understand exactly what the problem is... I don't think I can see what's wrong!

    However:

=SUM(I8,I14,I17,I29,I30) in I34 is incorrect. I30 is a blank cell... Is that what's wrong???

    Thanks

I30 I left as blank..should have zero in it.. I used that cell to check for recalc when I input a number
