Complex Conditional Formatting

Hi all,

I am looking for some help with a more complex conditional formatting problem. I have a data set arranged by name (rows) and date (column). I also have a seperate table which list events that have occurred to each person on a particular date. I am trying to work out how to create a conditional formatting rule which highlights these dates on the data set. I have attached an excel file with an example of what i'm after.
