Copy and paste formulas to go from left to right

Hi,
I thought this was a straightforward exercise. I have a formula to SUM to cells together - but I need to have the cells go left to right, not down. I thought if you just had your original cell with the $ absolute ref, and then you gripped the green fill it would copy the formula. It seems to only just copy the 2 original cells.

Kinda stuck.

Any help is appreciated.

you want to sum up a line? , and not a column?

If you look at G35, H35, I35, etc. I'm trying to fill those cells with the formula I did in F35, and E35. I can't seem to "grip" the FILL crosshair to copy it from left to right. Weird.

You dont have a formula in F35....

If you select E35 & then drag the fill handle to P35, the formula will copy across & will update to the correct column so P35 will have
=SUM(P$14:P$15)

I am doing exactly what you're saying, dragging the fill handle all the way to P35 and the formula is updated, but the values don't change. It's like the formatting is messed up?

If the formula is changing, but the values aren't check that you have calculation set to automatic.
Its on the formula tab under calculation options.
