Hi,

I have a column of ID numbers that start with two characters and then the year and then 4 or 5 corresponding characters. For example, EJ18211S, HL19900NE, PK20100N, etc. The year is located after the first two letters of the ID; in my examples, the years would be 18,19, and 20. All of the IDs are the same format: two characters, then the year in two characters, and then 4 or 5 characters. Is there a way I can make a new column next to the ID column that shows just the year; in other words, is there a formula that lets me take out the 3rd and 4th characters from a text cell?
