How to change custom number based on drop-down selection

Hi,

I have a drop-down list in Column L Row 2 that has two option "Pounds" and "Ounces" to select from. Based on which is selected it changes how our shipping formulas are calculated.... that all works great.

Here's what I'm trying to change... in Column L starting on row 5 and down... we input a weight in either pounds or ounces (whichever unit of measure is selected on the drop-down). I'm just trying to make it look nicer by adding a custom number behind the weights... so I need two custom numbers "lbs" and "oz". I know how to make the custom numbers in formatting cells... what I can't figure out is how to make Column L show one or the other based on the which is selected in the drop-down. So if "Pounds" is selected all the shipping weight numbers have "lbs" behind them. If "Ounces" is selected, all the weights change to having "oz" behind them.

Is this possible? I'm guessing I need some type of conditional format formula on the cell in column L row 5 and down... just not sure what that formula would be.

Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

You can use this formula in Conditional formatting
=$L$2="Pounds"
the select format & custom & use your custom cell format.
Then do the same for Ounces.
