    Formulas/Functions/Percent

    District Percent Apr-May-Jun.PNG

Okay...I really lost with this - I have a Status of Funds chart that shows a Yearly spending Authority/Total Spending/Available Balance/Current percent.

    - We know Total Spending/Spending Authority = Percent (sum(E6/C6)
    - So they have a 3rd Qty Allocations that totals to $222,900 =H6+I6+J6
    - Now I need to minus out the 3rd Qty to get my spending percent for the Months - right?
    - What percent would they be at the current Apr spending?
    - What percent would they be at the current May spending?
    - What percent would they be at the current Jun spending?

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

    Hello -

I would try to help you if you would post a small sample excel spreadsheet per the instructions in the yellow band at the top of this post.

    Re: Formulas/Functions/Percent

    Hi -

I'm looking at your spreadsheet, and this is more of a question of what numbers are you trying to produce, rather than an excel question. Can you explain what "3rd Qty Allocation" is? Also, the Spending Authority is 768,512 in Cell C6. I noticed in Cell Q6 we have the same number, which is the New Spending minus 3rd Qty Allocation plus the monthly spend for April, May, June. Is that on purpose? Like, are you trying to tie out your spending for those three months with the A,M, J allocations?

Finally, your A,M,J percentages in Cells N6, O6, and P6 I assume are the three entries of $74,300 but I don't know what you're dividing them by to get your percentage. Since they are even 1/3's of the total, the April column says spending % for April should be 58%? You're never going to be at 58% if you only allocate 33% of the money in April. Can you explain what these entries are?

    Sorry I'm not much help.

    Re: Formulas/Functions/Percent

    Hi -

Based on your PM to me, I have added some simple formulas to multiply the available spend by the percentages you show in each month. File is attached.

    Hope this helps.
