    countifs with comparision operator

    dear all,

    =COUNTIFS('AX DATA'!$K:$K,"*"&$A$1&"*",'AX DATA'!$Y:$Y,"*"&$A3&"*",'AX DATA'!$AP:$AP,">3")
    am not able to get the result with the given formula. but if I remove the ">" signs only then I get the result.
    so, I put the formula like,
    =COUNTIFS('AX DATA'!$K:$K,"*"&$A$1&"*",'AX DATA'!$Y:$Y,"*"&$A3&"*",'AX DATA'!$AP:$AP,"2")+COUNTIFS('AX DATA'!$K:$K,"*"&$A$1&"*",'AX DATA'!$Y:$Y,"*"&$A3&"*",'AX DATA'!$AP:$AP,"3")

    can't we put comparison operator in this formula. without using these operator length of the formula becomes soo long.
    please help.

    Hi,
    Can you add the excel with the 1st formula to see where your error comes from?

    Re: countifs with comparision operator

    thanks for responding,
    after you asked to add excel file, i was making one and eventually the formula worked. so, i look if there was any mistake in my original file then i find out the error was in the number format in the data. then after i click on "convert to number",
    booyah formula worked.
    there was mistake in my number format in the data.

    thanks,

    Re: countifs with comparision operator

    Based on the rest of the post, I think you mean this:

    =COUNTIFS('AX DATA'!$K:$K,"*"&$A$1&"*",'AX DATA'!$Y:$Y,"*"&$A3&"*",'AX DATA'!$AP:$AP,"<=3")

    >3 means greater than 3.
