What formula do I use to deduct £20 a month from £500 over a year

    Hello All,

Can anyone tell me what formula I use to deduct £20.00 from £500 over 12 months the sum I've used is =SUM(500-E18:P18).

So the sum is £500 - my range is E18:P18 the idea is that in january £20 is deducted the whole amount is then reduced to £480.00 and then february a further £20.00 is reduced from the whole amount leaving £460.00 and so on.

My sum is bringing back a #VALUE! when executed.

I hope this makes some sense any advice would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Marco

I think your syntax is wrong. Try =500-(SUM(E18:P18))
