Hi,
I'm searching for a formula that I'm not quite sure exists, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had any ideas!
I'm trying to link data from one sheet to another. The problem is, the sheets are sorted differently, so I can't just use [='sheet1'!A1] and copy that formula for the entire table. I'm not able to change the format of either sheet, so I'm hoping there is a formula I can use that will populate the table with the correct data and avoid me having to manually link each cell.
I've attached an image so you can see what I'm working with. A few things to note: I have highly simplified the tables for this question; the actual document I am working with has substantially more data. I'm not able to re-format either sheet - I can't just alphabetize the colours in each sheet so the columns align.
I would like to link data from sheet 2 into sheet 1. I'm looking for a formula that would match the values in column B and input the data from that colour's respective column N of sheet 2 into column F of sheet 1 - so that budget for each colour is correct. Something I am thinking of my head is [=IF('Feb 2020'!B:B='Sheet 1'!B:B),'Sheet 2'!N:N)]. But that's clearly not working. Am I missing something so that it grabs the right data from column N in sheet 2? Again, I'm not even sure this formula exists.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Having to manually link each cell would be incredibly tedious so I'm really hoping there's another option!
Thanks in advance!!
Emily
