Hi all,
I have a problem where a conditinal formatting is not being applied to cells.
the rule is =IF(COUNTIF(R2,"*Trans*"),TRUE,FALSE)
and it should be applied to =$A$2:$H$1000
so i only want the first 8 columns to change colour if the value is there.
unfortunatly its only being applied to column A and non of the others
Any advice?
i have copied it into a blank workbook and get exactly the same results

you dont need the IF
=COUNTIF($R2,"*Trans*")>0
Fix the R column using a dollar , so it will be looked at from columns A to H
