Average of top 25% and bottom 25% answers

Hello Forum

I really hope you can help.

I need to find a formula to find the average of the top 25% and bottom 25% answers.

I know that I can use AVERAGE(SMALL(I4:I32;{1;2;3;4;5;6;7})) if the sample is 29 answers, but I need a generic formula that can figure out {1;2;3;4;5;6;7} itself.
