    count unique cells

    I need a formula that will count unique cells for example apple, orange, orange, will be 2 .

    here is a formula I've used to count unique values...
    =SUMPRODUCT(1/COUNTIF(A2:A26,A2:A26))
    so you just have to adjust the ranges to your cells.
    Make contributors happy, click on the "* Add Reputation" as a way to say thank you.
