    Help with it is a complicated Lookup for me!!

    Hi

    This is my first post, WooHoo!

    I am having a lot of difficulty with the attached example. On sheet1 I want to look up the date in row 2 and the Grade in column B and if it is within the date range in D:E return the value from sheet2 for that date and Grade.

    Clear as mud??

    I have tried lookups and Index.Match and it is just beyond my capability

    Can anyone shed some light on this for me

    Jonny

    Put this formula in H5:

    =IF(AND($D5<=H$2,$E5>=H$2),INDEX(Sheet2!$C$4:$I$75,MATCH(H$2,Sheet2!$B$4:$B$75),MATCH($B5,Sheet2!$C$3:$I$3,0)),"")

    then copy across to Q5. Then you can copy those formulae into row 8.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

    Glad to help, and welcome to the forum. In future, you will need to be more careful about the title that you use for your thread - it should be more about what you want to achieve.

    If that takes care of your original question, please take a moment to select Thread Tools from the menu above and to the right of your first post in this thread, and mark the thread as SOLVED.

    Also, since you are new to the forum, you might like to know that you can directly thank those who have helped you by clicking on the small "star" icon located in the lower left corner of a post that you have found to be helpful (not just in this thread - for any post that has helped you). This also adds to the reputation of the poster (the small green bars in the poster's profile).

    Pete
