    Conditional Formatting not working

    Hi all,

Not entirely sure if this is the correct forum for this particular problem, but given that it's formula related I felt I should give it a go.

I'm currently trying to apply conditional formatting to a number of cells, based on the following formula: =$F2=Blue

For some context, under the Excel Table I'm building Column F contains a drop-down list with four options (Blue, Red, Amber, Green), and what I am trying to achieve is that whenever any of these options are selected the target cells are formatted accordingly, in this case filled with the colour in question. Unfortunately, this isn't working.

I'd be much obliged if you could share some thoughts and insights on how to resolve this.

Many thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    G

Select the range you want to highlight starting with F2 it would appear and would need to be contiguous.

    Conditional Formatting
    New Rule
    Use a formula to determine...

    =$F2="Blue"

    Format as required

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Re: Conditional Formatting not working

    see attached file.

    Using formula:

    =$E2="Red"

And three more conditions for the same cell.

    Hope this helps.
