cell displaying 0 with a =A2 function

I have created a form that gets information form other cells that have information inputted( cell B2 is =A2, the user inputs something into A2. the problem I have is that if a field (A2)is left blank B2 displays a zero. been trying to figure out a way to have it be blank if nothing is inputted. was trying in conditional formatting with no results.

for some reason I feel the answer to this is dangling in front of me but I cant figure it out.

you can set the application to diplay empty cels as empty rather than have zero values

see under "excel options"

It won't be an empty cell though, it will be a cell with a formula in it that returns a 0 when the source cell is empty.
