    VLookup N/A

    Hello again friends,

Attached is a file where I'm getting nothing but N/A's on the VLookup return I'm not quite sure why. I think it may somehow have to do with the numbering format? From what I understand I believe my formula is sound.

Basically column D should populate the description in column C if there's a match anywhere between columns A and B. Where am I going wrong?

Remove the TRIM function and you should be all set. The issue is that TRIM will turn a number into text.

Dang, you're right. I had no idea the TRIM function turned numbers in to text! I learned that TRIM function here yesterday. Thank you Melvosh! I will mark this thread as solved.
