How to sum with variable and date

I have a budget file that I would like to automate. I have the month (D4:D5) where I would like for it to pull the correct data based on the month (D2). The same goes for the YTD (F4:F5) totals. So in D4 I want to be able to pull the correct account in this case 8000 and have it retrieve M3. Then on the YTD if I change it to February I need the formula in F4 to total column N3&M3. If March then it would need to total M3:O3. I can make this all work with a really long sumif formula where it looks at the account number, where I have the date hardcoded and then it's looking in just the one column. Would a sumif with index and match work>????

    Thanks,
