Lookup values from Pivot Table according to multiple criteria

    Hello,

I have a pivot table which sums costs for a department (rows) against the month (columns).

I would like a formula to pull out the value for a specific department & month, that references to the pivot table. I.e. if I refresh the pivot table to bring in new data, the formula will still work.

    TIA!

Hello awesusan and Welcome to Excel Forum.
When I select the attachment in post #2 I get the following: "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"
I imagine that you need a GETPIVOTDATA based formula, however it would be helpful to see the pivot table and raw data to be sure.
To upload a workbook (not a picture or pasted copy) click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Unfortunately I can't upload the workbook as its private information.
I did it today with a nested IF. Not sure if that will still work when the pivot is refreshed.
GETPIVOTDATA doesn't seem to work for me with cell references as criteria like I can with the If (i.e. "=$A2"). It wants me to write the criteria out. Not sure if I've got something wrong.
I can post the formula once I'm back at work.
