COUNTIF searching cells that contain multiple pieces of data

Hi all,

Please see attached. My COUNTIF function in column O of sheet3 aims to count the number of occurrences of isbn's from column H of sheet2. Sheet 2 column H contains multiple pieces of data see H$ that contains:

9780511752179; 9780521434140

The second isbn needs to be counted in my function but you'll see in O4 of sheet3 that it counts 0.

Can you help me out?

persisting with COUNTIF; given fact your ISBNs can either be number (sole) or text (multiple) you could use:
